Course Overview
Knowledge of the Norwegian language and society is a fundamental key to unlocking many opportunities in Norway. The Inter-Nationals Intensive Career Summer School in Norwegian aims to develop your language, educational, cultural and professional skills so that you can kickstart your career or start your business in Norway.
The 2022 career school is divided into 4 tracks all of which have the end goal of helping you kickstart your career in Norway. The tracks for 2022 are:
- The job seekers (Summer and daytime)
- The Education track (Summer and daytime)
- The Entrepreneur track (Starting September and evening)
- The Project Management track (Starting September and evening)
Employees and Job Seekers Track
In this track the emphasis is on improving your language, cultural awareness and job searching skills. As a minimum you should have learnt the following by the end of the intensive course:
- Norwegian Language and grammar for job search and the workplace;
- How to adapt your cv and cover letter to the Norwegian market;
- How to ace your job interview in Norway (through role plays);
- Basic knowledge of the working environment law in Norway;
- Social and cultural codes in the Norwegian workplace.
- Access to our mentorship programme even when the course has ended.
Course Schedule: June 27 to August 5, 2022
Time: 08.30-12.00 (Mon), 08.30-10.30 (Tue), 08.30-1200 (Wed) 08.30-1130 (Thurs)
Education Track
In this track the emphasis is on improving your language and preparing you to apply or start a Norwegian taught course/programme at a Norwegian University. As a minimum you should have learnt the following by the end of the intensive course:
- Norwegian Language to a level that helps you to meet the minimum language requirements like Norskprøve (B2), Bergentest etc.;
- The different study possibilities and opportunities that exist in Norway including exceptions to the Generell Studies Kompetanse (GSK) requirement;
- How to apply for admission or authorization (where required)
- Your general rights and obligations as a student, including funding opportunities
- Access to our mentorship programme even when the course has ended.
Course Schedule: June 27 to August 5, 2022
- Mon – Thurs: 09.00-12.00
Consultants and Entrepreneurs Track
In this track, the emphasis is on boosting your oral confidence to effectively market yourself and business in the Norwegian market. As a minimum you should have learnt the following by the end of the intensive course:
- Norwegian Language for business use
- Governmental formalities including “23 offentlige ting” you need to know as well as how to find, use and relate to them.
- Conducting market research in Norway
- Promoting your personal and business brand in the Norwegian market
- Data privacy regulations in Norway that every entrepreneur should know
- Access to our mentorship programme even when the course has ended.

Project Management Track
In this track, the emphasis is on refining you from a general employee to an innovative and result oriented person within your organization. As a minimum you should have learnt the following by the end of the intensive course:
- Norwegian Language within a professional setting;
- Innovation methodologies;
- How to move from ideas to reality;
- Promoting your personal brand and value within and outside your organization;
- Access to our mentorship programme even when the course has ended.

Who should sign up for the course?
- You want to get a professional job or start a business that requires Norwegian;
- You want study a Norwegian taught course/programme in a Norwegian university;
- You are motivated to learn the Norwegian language and cultural codes
- You are willing and able to commit to the intensive schedule for the course duration
- You are self motivated to complete the home tasks before each new class
- You already have already completed B1 Norwegian language course
- You are not afraid to make mistakes in class

All participants will need access to a computer and wifi.

NB: Admitted participants are expected to achieve a minimum attendance of 80% to earn a course certificate.
